This Swansea-based group has brought joy to many in the
club scene. It is hard to believe that within the bowels
of Welsh valleys reside three very talented young men who
have produced unarguably one of the best albums of the decade.
Mike Truman, Chris Healings and Lee Mullins met by chance at
a club seven years ago and since then they have been bringing
about the future of music with their remixes for great names
like Carl Cox and even Alanis Morisette, the first for the
angry white female.Expect a refreshing change from the dead sounds of typical dance,
since the trios very motive was to breathe some life back into
the melodies which make them highly sought after and even more
respected by their peers like Sasha and John Digweed before
their debut album was released.
Wide Angle is the much anticipated album by Hybrid,
where the haunting vocals of Julee Cruise of the Twin Peaks
soundtrack fame lend an uncommon elegance and sophistication
to the unique blend of house, jazz and classical influences
within Wide Angle. Choice tracks are If I Survive,
Theme from Wide Angle, Dreaming Your Dreams and the
brilliantly-produced Unbfinished Symphony. While you are
at it, listen for the sounds of the 90-piece Russian Federal
Orchestra.
The results are not disappointing.
