Joy-fully entertaining!

After a grueling one-hour wait, the woman of the night finally appeared in a full white ensemble. Backed by two gorgeous looking male dancers, Michael and Gustavo (I hope I got his name right!), Joy Enriquez made up for her late entrance with purely good entertainment.

Although she sang a total of five songs, she certainly made everyone feel part of the showcase. She openly flirted with the photographers by posing for every available camera. Her constant eye contact with her audience made her 'closer' to them. It was questionable though whether she sang her songs live, but the moment she sang the hit, “How Could I Not Love You?” from the Anna and the King soundtrack, we immediately knew that she sang it for real.

She tried to make the people at Venom groove with her bouncing tracks but I felt they were fixated at her nice curves (she was wearing a white toga top and a pair of white hipsters mind you).

She belted two songs written by Babyface in his signature R&B style, a Latin number, that beautiful track, “Someday” and her current single, “Tell Me How You Feel”.

The showcase was hosted by VJ Utt from MTV. Barely thirty minutes later, Joy and her two dancers left as swiftly as they came. Judging by the very short performance, I feel that she has the ability to achieve superstar status. With good producers, songwriters, a pretty face and a voice talent to match, I feel that this lady can go far. It's time that we see new faces in the scene. Haven't we had enough of Britneys, Christinas and Mandys already?
