Li Quan, the talented Shanghai born artiste held an intimate concert with his fans at the Hard Rock Café last Saturday.
Numbering not more than 100, his fans are mostly young adults and working professionals. There were absolutely no crazy screaming fans at the concert.
Although I couldn't comprehend what was going on, I have to admit that Li Quan is quite a performer. His music varies from bossa nova jazz beats to R&B and a bit of rock. Contrary to his deep, husky voice, his singing vocals are actually quite melodic!
Having trained on the piano since he was four, Li Quan belted out a few songs on the keyboard during the set. His long locks and casual attire made it seemed as if he was a rock singer but he wants to be known more as a multi genre musician.
Li Quan sang a total of eight songs that cool afternoon. Most of the songs that were taken from his latest album, Wireless Man. He also did a cover of Richard Marx's Right Here Waiting.
He wrapped up his concert about one and half-hours later. He received a tremendous amount of applause from his appreciative audience. It was indeed an entertaining set.
