Five new young hotties are set to jump on the boyband bandwagon. Gabe Combs, Nathan Walters, Nate Cole, Jeremy Mhire and Jason Perry make up the group, Plus One.
Their debut album, The Promise features 12 pop tracks that worship God. But if you were at their showcase at Hard Rock Café, you'll be wondering whether these guys are REALLY singing praises to God.
With their ruffled hair, face piercing and funky dressing, no one would imagine that they are actually a Christian boyband.
More than 200 girls were screaming for Plus One even before they were in the building! It is a wonder how fast boybands get their fan base although they are still a newbie in the scene (Plus One has only released their album for less than a few months!)
The showcase was hosted by Perfect 10 DJ, Daniel Ong as part of the station's Up, Close and Personal session that was aired live that day.
The guys bounced onto staged with a pretty fast number, Written On My Heart. I have to admit that they can sing quite well. Pretty faces, nice voices are two of the essential ingredients that maketh a popular boyband. But too bad, they can't dance as well as they sing and look (but at least better than Westlife!).
During the course of the showcase, their crazed fans did whatever they could to be near their heartthrobs. From sitting quietly on the floor to jumping ecstatically when the first glimpses of the boys were seen. Some were even throwing gifts at the poor chaps when they were singing!
As a finale, they sang their first single, Last Flight Out. As Plus One was reaching the last few bars of that song, some girls were seen hurriedly leaving Hard Rock Café. I have a feeling that they were rushing to Heeren where the boys will appear again a few hours later for an appearance. What can I say, boyband fans are boyband fans. They would do absolutely anything for their favourite group!
