FlytotheSky | The Promise
FlytotheSky's droolworthy hunks, Brian and Fany, garnered an impressive report card last year. Not only did their debut album Day By Day sell more than 700,000 copies, the group was also simultaneously awarded Best Newcomer of the Year by Korean television station SBS. Produced by Lee Soo Man, The Promise keeps FlytotheSky's American-style R&B as its central approach while bordering on the vicinities of pop and hip hop.
The album contains 14 whole new tracks; amongst them the title track The Promise shows much potential with its additional Booty Mix encompassing a rap segment that adds a lighter feel to an essentially heartrending song. Every track in the album revolves around the central theme of love - Don't Forget Me and its romantic persistence, the profession of love in Shy Love etc. Love, love and more love; one wonders if Fany's and Brian's metamorphosis into new-age Casanovas will spur a sudden courage in their fans to seek their own romantic ideal?
Especially high in the passion quotient is FlytotheSky's sensual rendition of tracks like In Your Eyes and Crystal. Apart from FlytotheSky's show of its own talents, the album also features a variety of musical talents like H.O.T. member Kang Ta, BoA, Jin Ju etc. Produced in the U.S., this album promises much more than just 14 music tracks. It is also a CD-ROM which includes the making of and other wacky bits of the album. Beware though of Fany's slithering, cool eyes; you may just be charmed. Purchase the album and get a limited edition FlytotheSky mouse pad.
