For SSOs Fundraising Concert on Friday, 7 September, the gifted Lee Huei Min returns to perform Lalos exciting Symphonie Espagnole.
Huei Min is certainly a young Singaporean that has done the country proud. At the age of 14, Huei Min became the youngest student ever to be admitted to the School of Music at Yale University. Last year, she was selected as the first recipient of the HSBC Youth Excellence Initiative, which recognises outstanding young talents to help them develop their potential to the fullest and achieve international recognition. Presently, Huei Min is preparing for her European debut which will bring her to the London Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Huei Mins will also be recording her first CD with the Royal Philharmonic to be released at the end of this year.
The repertoire for the evening features Spanish-flavoured orchestral works. Be treated to popular works such as Bizets Carmen Suite, Chabriers Espana, Ravels Bolero and Rossinis Overture to the Barber of Seville.
To lead the SSO is a conductor who has been associated with elevating the artistic standards of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra being its Music Director for 15 years till May 2000. Let the eminent conductor Michael Lankester bring you through an evening of delightful orchestral performance.
