The pop diva has followed the likes of Simply Red and Eric Clapton
to produce another "Greatest Hits" compilation. The recently
released album promises previous movie hits like the 1992
single "I Will Always Love You" from the movie "The Bodyguard"
which she starred in and ‘Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" penned by
Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds from the "Waiting to Exhale" movie
which she also co-starred in.
The album boasts 2 CDs. The first compiles slow tracks
while the second makes you move to the dance floor with some
remixes to her original tracks. Other tracks include familiar
tunes like "Greatest Love of All" and "Saving All My Love
For You". There are some new tracks including duets with veteran
George Michael and hotbod Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
As Houston celebrates her 15th year with record label
Arista, "Whitney: The Greatest Hits" commemorates the artiste
who has sold more than 111 million records and videos worldwide.
The album also comes fresh from Houston’s sixth Grammy win
for "It’s Not Right But It’s Okay".
Despite her infamous performance no-shows and public speculation of
Houston’s involvement in drugs, the album is selling well.
Already "Whitney: The Greatest Hits" has topped the Official
U.K. Albums chart this week, outselling Britney Spears’ "Oops…I
Did It Again". Houston has since spoken up against the accusations,
stating she is clean from drugs and blamed illness and throat
problems for her show cancellations. While Houston tries to
put all these behind her, the success of "Whitney: The Greatest
Hits" may not be far.
