In their fifth LP, Live moves on from melodic ballads to more hard-edged noisy sounds.
The album was recorded after returning from a road tour in October 2000. The first single, “Simple Creed” had Tricky to do the rap bits for them. “Call Me A Fool” is another cool ballad that is a signature of Live. It has traces of Beatles inspired tunes in that track.
The whole album is a mix of funk meets rapcore meets rock meets ballads. V isn't exactly an album that the fans are anticipating. Nevertheless, it's a fresh start. It's worth a listen.
