It is unmistakable Spears has no intention of relinquishing
her top spot in the Billboards, for she has stuck to the same
teenybopper formula that brought fame to her debut album,
Baby One More Time. The overall feel of the album does
not differ; the same tight drumbeats and the various orchestral
sounds remain.
She even does a cover of the Rolling Stones hit [I Cant Get No]
Satisfaction which pales greatly in comparison to the original.
Her voice tires for a full length album and she needs to work on
making her ballads interesting rather than playing on the same
old format. But Spears must be applauded for having combined
drive and ambition with honesty and a modest appraisal of her
vocal and musical limitations. This admirable trait is what makes
her stand out from similar artistes like Christina Aguilera and
Jessica Simpson.
Spears is hoping more older people will buy her album but from
the sounds of her second attempt she would have to try harder
than this to win the matured ears of the older crowd.
