Standfast | Standfast
There's more to Sweden than furniture, Swedish meatballs, Abba, A*Teens and Roxette. Here come Standfast and the self-titled album by Standfast, a must listen, a must get, a must have. Reminiscent of breezy summer and cool walks by the sea! Suzanne Mosson and Patrick Tucker put together a special blend of chemistry in each track and it goes without saying everybody loves 'Carcrashes'. It's almost on looping mod when we first reviewed the single here in the Vivamusic office.
There's a hint of Frente meets Carpenters and a chirpy brand of St Etienne in the album - sweet, cheeky innocence with song words like pretty poems and refreshing tinkering sounds like in 'No Longer'. It would be grand if this is the next single. Go guitar happy in 'Morningcharm' but there's more variety in Standfast. There is a surprise element of dance in this album like in track 6 and 9, which could be remixed and tranced to at the clubs. Versatile and unique is Standfast, a jewel of an album this.
