The Corrs | In Blue
It’s 2000 and Irish pop group, The Corrs, has finally released
their much-anticipated album (though I wonder why it’s called
“In Blue” when the whole album is covered in pinks and purples!).
But the cover doesn’t matter that much; it’s the songs that count.
The Corrs wrote every single song for the album, including the bonus
track, “Rebel Heart”, a musical track for a BBC drama.
The group took their various experiences in love and relationships as
well as inspiration taken from other musical groups when writing
the songs for the album, resulting in a raw and revealing fourth album.
“Hurt Before”, “Irresistible” and “No More Cry” were thus born.
In fact, The Corrs wrote “No More Cry” especially for their father,
to encourage him after the devastating death of their mother, Jean.
Dedicated to their mother, this album also includes a more rock version
of “Radio” and “At Your Side”.
The Corrs have found their hit-making formula in “In Blue” with
mainstream, radio friendly tracks set against Irish-influenced music.
Their first single from the album, “Breathless” scored a first for
the group, hitting Number One in the UK charts. “In Blue” has gone
gold in Australia as well, with more than 35,000 copies sold in the
first week of release! The Corrs are finally making their mark on the
pop industry permanent with “In Blue”!
