Amanda Leigh Moore, or Mandy Moore has had a childhood
unlike others. Discovering her love for singing after
going to a summer musical theatre camp when she was all
but nine-year old. Her parents then decided to sent young
Mandy for voice lessonsFrom then on, Mandy began her quest to be a performer.
In Orlando, she was known as the National Anthem Girl
for singing the anthem for their major sports teams and the
Chris Event Pro-Celebrity Tennis Tournament. By that time,
this little singer had a string of national commercials, TV
pilot and voice-over recordings under her belt.
Mandy was discovered accidentally by a Fed-Ex deliveryman,
who was captivated by her demo tape recording and sent a
copy to Sony Music without Mandy's knowledge. The executives
at the recording label were so impressed with her voice that
they immediately gave Mandy a call and signed her up.
After signing on with Sony Music, it was one whirlwind after
another. Her debut single, Candy was so well received that
it made Mandy an instant hit. The single climbed the charts
slowly, but surely when Mandy released her second single from
her album, Walk Me Home. This slow, yet romantic single struck
a chord in many teenagers, earning Mandy loads of fan adoration.
Mandy then released her debut album, titled So Real at the
tender age of 15, barely 6 years after she knew she wanted a
singing career.
The album, though reaching platinum status in three months,
did not rank as high as her record label wanted it to be. So
they repackaged it into a special edition, filled with tracks
from her debut album as well as her music videos. Titled I Wanna
Be With You, which was also the name of her latest single, Mandy
achieved pop star status, which got her linked up, often with
Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.
Mandy has had the opportunity to perform together with N'Sync
and the Backstreet Boys as their opening acts on their sold-out
national tours. Not only that, this feisty artiste has appeared
in numerous TV shows as well, guesting on The Tonight Show,
The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Donny & Marie just to name a few.
She also has a string of shows on MTV, hosting Total Request Live,
Snowed In and Spring Break and even having her own daily show
called Mandy.
Now, Mandy's I Wanna Be With You has been certified gold and
she's having a great time touring around the world promoting her
album. Just like the three other blonde pop stars, we'll await
the arrival of her new album, which will begin recording in October!
The world definitely wants Moore of Mandy Moore!
