Vengaboys

Mention Vengaboys and you’ll probably think of tunes that are insanely danceable, not to mention the country of Brazil. Four young and talented singers hailing from exotic locations like Brazil, Amsterdam, Budapest and Spain. Originally known as the working name of two DJs, Danski and Delmundo, these two met up with Kim and her gang one day in 1996. During the autumn of 1996, the idea grew that it was time to expand the over successful parties that the two DJs had throughout the world. Performing under the name, Vengaboys, it was decided that Kim and gang would do all the frontline work, with Danski and Delmundo with time enough to continue their producing and DJ-ing.

The two DJs based themselvs in a well-equipped studio in the northern part of Europe with the rest of the group continuing the over-successful European tour as Vengaboys. The first single, “Up and Down” was released in March 1997 and it was a huge hit across Europe, reaching number 4 in UK even! Since then, the band has had two number one hits, “Boom Boom Boom Boom” and “We’re Going To Ibiza”. Following these two immense hits, “We Like To Party” came out, giving Vengaboys total combined sales of almost 2 million singles in the UK alone!

The four frontline members of the group, Kim, Roy, Denice and Yorick, who replaced Robin, have always found their very special way of attracting attention. They’ve thrown a large amount of money to audiences before and even promoted their single “Kiss (When The Sun Don’t Shine)” by setting up the world record for the Longest Kiss!

This time around, they are coming to Singapore for a one-night performance at Sparks on 22 July 2000! Check out our Happenings page for more information!
