A Sharp Pencil
With names like Mean sperm, Murder, ice cream & trivial pursuit and brainrush, you would have realized that this is no ordinary local movie soundtrack. In fact, this is no ordinary local movie either; a modern-day fable that sees a man questioning the truth to his existence in the world. Tired of living in a box day in day out, Simon Choo creates his own form of excitement that he calls Brainrush. From breaking into a Jaguar car showroom to running around town naked, this, as the synopsis cryptically announces, is just the beginning. Mark Richmond, Beatrice Chia, Lim Kay Siu, Edmund Chen and Ernest Seah leads the cast in the movie.
The soundtrack also sees veteran actor Lim Kay Tong in his first recording for a music soundtrack. He is the only featured artiste in this 14-track album which ranges from trance, techno to drum & base and even house composed by DJ Brendon P, playwright/ songwriter, Wen Fu and international award-winning composer Boris Ang. So no pop tunes, no soppy melodies here, pure chill-out music that is guaranteed to get to the dance floor (or at least your head-bobbing).
Not only that, the soundtrack will also have two music videos featuring Lim Kay Tong and directed by California-based filmmaker Gallen Mei (who directed the movie as well) as well as Chicken Rice Wars director, Cheek.
