Raihan | Koleksi Nasyid Terbaik Raihan
Pop in the CD and press play. Immediately I was captivated by the first song on the album. The soothing vocals and the wonderful harmony between the members is fascinating. The smooth percussions backing up the song. Perfect. Just perfect. If you think it's an acapella group, you are wrong. I'm talking about Malaysia's first Nasyid Contemporary group, Raihan. Their latest album, Koleksi Nasyid Terbaik Raihan, is a collection of their best songs plus three new inclusions. Although their songs are mostly praises to God, it doesn't outrightly sound so. Unlike their previous albums, which uses mostly the traditional Malay percussions, this album combined the sounds of African percussions such as the bonggo, congga, bata drums and surdo. The result, amazing!
Winner of numerous awards, Raihan is already a household name in Singapore as well as Malaysia. The positive messages of their songs reach out to all levels of listeners, including those of different races. Enough said. This 16 track album is definitely worth the buy. If you don't believe me, listen to (I'tiraf) and tell me your views. Besides, it's also for a good cause.
