Barely five months in the local music industry, LOCO have appeared in countless shows and formal functions.
But, the members of LOCO have been weaving in and out of the music industry as early as 1993. The initiator, Sirfan, has seen a lot of member changes before this final line-up that you see, was decided.
Sirfan, Rizal, Ramdan and Shahrom each have different interests in music. Sirfan is your average kind of guy. He listens to everything but he especially digs new age and ballads. Rizal is into heavy metal music. He is someone who fits the hardcore fan description perfectly with the all-black attire topped with a don't-mess-with-me face. As for Ramdan, he doesn't mind anything upbeat. In fact, he tries to appreciate every genre there is available. The only thing he can't tolerate is heavy metal. Rumour has it that his favourite singer is Mariah Carey! And finally, the shy Shahrom enjoys listening to ethnic traditional Malay music.
In case you didn't know, LOCO means 'crazy' in Spanish. The word 'loco' befits their rojak influences in music. Four totally different lads with totally different personalities coming together in a group only to perform pop songs? Yes, it is crazy!
LOCO will be performing their very first live full set at the Vivamusic Hub. The one-hour set will display their vocal talents, as they will be singing some covers and a few of their original compositions.
If you think that these guys can only sing, you are wrong! Sirfan has the ability to play the keyboard as well writing and composing music. Basically his forte is to compose music.
Rizal, the goth guy can play the drums really well. He can jam a few songs on guitar and he writes mean songs (I mean really nice ones!) Ramdan contributes with the dance choreography. He makes sure that the vocal quality of the group is within everyone's expectations. And finally Shahrom would add his traditional elements to their repertoire so that their music is as diverse as it can be.
Ok, you must be pretty excited by the great amount of information that I have fed you. To witness the talented LOCO up, close and personal, I suggest that you come on down to Vivamusic Hub on the 17th for an hour filled with pure talent. You be the judge.
