Chick Corea & Friends LIVE
This VCD is actually Chick Corea's tribute to Bud Powell,
one of the new generation of jazz artistes. Chick actually
began his love for jazz just by listening to Bud's music
when he was growing up. Now, Chick has joined up with a
couple of jazz artistes, like Roy Haynes, Kenny Garrett,
Christian McBride, Joshua Redman and Wallace Roney, to pay
this tribute to his favourite jazz player.
The two VCDs features different tracks and were recorded
in different places. The first VCD was recorded in Japan,
at the “Summer Live '96, Parthenon Tama”. In it, Chick and
his friends performed a total of four songs. In the second
VCD, recorded in Germany, at the “Munich Klaviersommer 1996”
performance, the group performed three of Bud's songs, like
“Oblivion” and “I'll Keep Loving You”. Chick also performed
a special song written specially for Bud, titled “Bud Powell”
in the Japan performance. A fantastic VCD you won't want to
miss out on!
